Md. Golam Sarwar studied Marine Engineering at Marine Academy, Chittagong & obtained National Diploma in Marine Engineering from Business & Technical Education Council, U.K. in 1984. Later he studied at Cork Regional Technical College, Ireland & South Tyneside College, South Shields, UK and obtained his MEO class-1(Motor) certificate of competency from MCA, UK. He obtained his MBA in Digital Technology Management from Royal Roads University (Canada) in 2004 and obtained his Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University, UK in June 2006. He is a Council Member of The Institution of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST), UK; Incorporated Engineer, Engineering Council, UK; and Member of The Royal Instition of Naval Architects (RINA), UK. He is holding Treasurer post in IMarEST, Bangladesh branch. He often represents technical papers in technical seminars of IMarEST. He is a life member of Association of Marine Engineers, Bangladesh and Bangladesh Merchant Navy Officers Association. Mr. Sarwar also bears the membership of various local business body like Chittagong Chamber of Commerce etc. and different local society like Chittagong Boat Club, Shaheen Golf Club as well. |

A Mechanical Engineer from BUET as well as Marine Chief Engineer from Singapore. He started his career as Cadet Engineer & later sailed on different foreign going ship and eventually promoted to Chief engineer in 2002. Acquired vast and thorough knowledge in mechanical and electrical discipline throughout 18 years of sea and shore service in different capacities. Joined Western Marine Shipyard Ltd as Project Director in 2008 and served for one year. Later joined Keppel FELs Ltd, Singapore as Commissioning Superintendent of New Ship & Rig Buildings and worked for two years with reputation. In a view to serve the incipient shipbuilding industry in the motherland, he returned back to Bangladesh and joined DESH Shipbuilding as Technical Director in 2010. He has got affiliation with various international professional societies like ASME (USA), SNAME (USA), Engineering Council (UK), IMarEST (UK), RINA (UK) & FCIEB(Sin). He is a lifetime Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. |

| A master mariner, started career through sailing on board ship in 1993 as deck cadet after passing-out from Bangladesh Marine Academy and served in bulk, G.C., Oil , Chemical & Asphalt carrier of different international companies in different capacities and finally promoted as Master in 2004 & served in Chemical / oil tanker through out command Period till 2010. Later joined DESH Shipbuilding as Operation Director and enlightening the local industry with his versatile expertise in management, quality control, safety aspects and ship systems since. Trained in ship safety, fire fighting, ISM, ISPS, SOLAS and other aspects that are very crucial in orchestrating a shipyard. He is an associate Fellow of Nautical Institute (UK), IBS(Panama) Class Surveyor & Panama Flag State Inspector. | |
